Is Ethanol the Right Way to Go?
Not all the experts answer that question with a “yes”. In fact, it seems that quite a few answer “no”.
Ethanol (compared to gasoline)
- lower energy value
- more expensive to produce
- more flammable and explosive
- absobs water and dirt (bad for engine)
- uses more energy to produce than it creates
One leading expert says “the country should instead focus its efforts on producing electrical energy from photovoltaic cells, wind power and burning biomass and producing fuel from hydrogen conversion.”
