More Grocery Store Savings

Posted on Wednesday 20 August 2008

I wrote postings about poor people and their food/ and grocery shopping over at Grandpa Richard Speaks. Here is a follow up to the grocery posting.

Today I brought home …

a slightly old cauliflower for 99 cents (1/2 price)
5 slightly old corn-on-the-cobs for 99 cents (1/2 price)
2 bags of frozen pineapple (600 g) for use in smoothies for 99 cents each (not sure of the normal price)
3 boxes of 100 facial tissues for 69 cents each (normal price I think)

I will cook the corn and cauliflower right away and keep extras for leftovers.

The above was at my favourite grocery store, 2 blocks away, that usually has a lot of slightly old produce for 1/2 price. The selection was not great today.
