Encouraging A Grieving Person

Take a few minutes to read this article if you are trying to help someone who is in pain due to the loss of a loved one, break-up, divorce or what ever type of pain.

Encouraging words and tips may seem unnecessary to someone who is in pain. In most cases when you share some free words of encouragement the person may seem to reject them while continuing to bask in the painful feeling.

Regardless of the reaction, every hurting person needs to hear positive words. I can liken sharing such words to planting a seed. In the beginning it may seem like there is nothing happening to the seed but when you patiently water it in due course something will turn up.

In the same way when you try to encourage someone, do not just give up at the first try even if you don’t see any positive results at first. Continue to share some beautiful words through Christian encouragement letters if you are dealing with a religious person and don’t think twice about it.

It may be that the person who is hurting is still fresh from the ordeal and needs time to digest everything. Summon all of your strength and patience and help the person the best way you can. Do not try and set a time table for the person to get over what ever it is he or she is grieving for – depending on the occurrence or the nature of the grieving person.

I have a friend who lost a loved one and spent two years still mourning and crying everyday before going to bed. One day he told me how the positive things we kept saying to him helped hime to move on eventually. We didn’t know we were making that kind of an impact at the time.

So if you feel like it is not important to keep writing and looking for a new letter of encouragement template to write something fresh everyday do not ever forget that they are helping him or her to survive through each day. Just maintain your encouragement with patience and understanding and it may be you are the reason why the grieving person is able to have the zest to live another day.
